Los países con mayor grado de violencia contra la infancia son Honduras, El Salvador y Guatemala donde 40% de la población es menor de edad y registra las tasas de homicidio más altas del mundo. El fondo de las Naciones Unidas para la Infancia (Unicef) ha expresado múltiples veces su profunda preocupación por la violencia que afecta a la niñez en Honduras e insiste al gobierno a unir esfuerzos para poner fin a este problema. "La violencia y la inseguridad ciudadana constituye actualmente una preocupación legítima de la población y del gobierno hondureño y es motivo de especial alarma cuando en el último mes por lo menos 18 niños, niñas y adolescentes han sido asesinadas en diferentes circunstancias", indicó Unicef en un comunicado. Unicef manifestó que para afrontar la criminalidad que afecta a los niños hondureños se requiere la participación activa de los gobiernos municipales para "asegurar entornos protectores para la niñez y espacios en los que su voz puede ser escuchada." Y es por eso que Unicef y el gobierno hondureño juntos crearon esta campaña que se puede ver alrededor del todo el país para sensibilizar en las comunidades de las diferentes regiones. El principal objetivo es poder enseñar el compromiso que los hondureños tienen de contribuir activa y efectivamente para que los niños y los adolescentes en Honduras vivan seguros y protegidos en sus hogares, escuelas y comunidades.

The countries with the highest degree of violence against children are Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala where 40% of the population is underage and records the highest homicide rates in the world. The United Nations Children's Fund (Unicef) has expressed multiple times it's deep concern about the violence that affects children in Honduras and insists the government to join efforts to end this problem. "Violence and civilian insecurity is now a legitimate concern of the population and Honduran government and it's a motive to be particularly alarmed when in the last month at least 18 young boys and girls and teenagers have been murdered in different circumstances," Unicef said in a statement. Unicef said that to tackle crime affecting children in Honduras requires the active participation of the local governments to "ensure a protective environment for children and spaces where your voice can be heard."That's why Unicef and the Honduran government together created this campaign that can be seen all around the country to raise awareness in the communities and different regions. The main goal is to be able to teach the compromise that hondurans have to active contribute and effectively so that children and teenagers in Honduras life safely and protected in their homes, schools and communities.
